Newborn Photography in Plymouth

The best time to book is during your pregnancy, ideally after your 20-week scan. This allows me to reserve space around your due date and gives the best chance of photographing your baby between 1 and 14 days old. 

The ideal age is between 1 and 14 days old. During this time, babies are usually sleepier and naturally curl into the poses seen throughout my portfolio. If your baby is older, please still get in touch. Every baby is different, and I'll always advise you honestly on what is possible based on their age and development. 

Most sessions last between 2 and 6 hours. Every baby is different, so plenty of time is allowed for feeding, changing, cuddles and settling. Sessions are never rushed.

All newborn sessions take place in my warm, comfortable photography studio in Plymouth, which is fully equipped with wraps, props and accessories. 

Just bring everything your baby would normally need, including milk, nappies, wipes, spare clothing and a dummy if your baby uses one. I'll provide the wraps, props and accessories. 

Yes. Parents are always welcome to be part of the session, creating beautiful family photographs to treasure for years to come. 

Absolutely. Sibling photographs are one of the most special parts of a newborn session, and I always encourage brothers and sisters to be included where possible. 

Every baby is different, and sessions are completely baby-led. Whether your baby sleeps deeply or stays awake, beautiful photographs can still be created. There is never any pressure to rush. 

Your baby's comfort and safety are always my highest priority. Every pose is done gently and naturally, with your baby's wellbeing guiding the entire session. 

Yes. I have a carefully selected collection of wraps, blankets, headbands, bonnets, bowls, baskets and other beautiful props available for your session. 

Of course. If you have a sentimental blanket, teddy, knitted outfit or family heirloom, I'd be delighted to include it where possible. 

Neutral colours and simple clothing photograph beautifully and help keep the focus on your baby. Detailed clothing advice is provided before your session. 

Your images will be professionally edited before being presented in your online gallery. You'll receive details of timescales during your session. 

Yes. Many families return for milestone sessions at 3, 6, 9 and 12 months, allowing me to capture their baby's incredible first year. 

Every baby is different, and there's no such thing as a "perfect" baby. My sessions are completely baby-led, allowing plenty of time for feeding, changing, cuddles and settling. There is never any pressure to rush, and your baby's comfort and wellbeing will always come first. 

Yes. Twins are very welcome, and every session is planned around keeping both babies comfortable and settled. Twin newborn sessions can take a little longer than a single newborn session, allowing plenty of time for feeding, changing and cuddles while creating beautiful individual and sibling portraits. 

Don't worry. If you've booked during your pregnancy, I'll reserve space around your due date. If your baby arrives earlier or later than expected, simply let me know as soon as possible and I'll do my best to adjust your session date to photograph your baby within the recommended 1-14 day window. 

Yes. Parent and sibling photographs can be added to your newborn session as an optional upgrade. As family portraits take additional time, they reduce the time available for newborn-only images, so they are not included in the standard newborn package. Please get in touch before your session if you would like to discuss adding family photographs.
