I first held my very own camera when I was 14 years old, which held a 35mm film cartridge (the long ones), no flash. The shots I took had to be right back then as you couldn’t view them on the back of the camera. I had a Saturday job in Freeman Hardy and Willis which helped pay to develop the film; This cost a fortune as some images didn’t come out or were blurred or the composition was wrong.
I went through the next decade with very similar cameras until the very late 1990’s when I purchased my first digital camera, a Sony Cyber Shot.
By 2011 my hobby started to get more serious and in 2012 I bought my first Nikon DSLR.
I spent the next three years pushing myself as much as I could with my health not looking good, holding down jobs, and looking after my family, trying to keep going it was very difficult.
Things were going so well I decided to go self-employed as a sole trader Photographer and set up Pin and Pose in 2015 after retiring from the Further Education Industry.
Team Leader and Events Consultant
Hi I'm Maz, I have been volunteering with Caroline, the proprietor of Pin and Pose for a couple of years now. We have been friends since we were children.
I take great pleasure in joining Caroline on her adventures around the country to many different locations. On many occasions, the scenery around us makes for amazing images and memories.
Caroline has, and still is, showing me different aspects of photography. I have shared some of these with family and friends.
My role within the Pin and Pose team is the events manager. I am called upon to organise and arrange events as needed. I try to think outside the box so that we stand out from the crowd. I do a lot of research to get the best deals for all involved.
